Widows Project || Nigeria

Northern Nigeria has been terrorized by violent groups over the last ten years. Violent land conflicts between herdsmen tribes
and settled farmers further contribute to undermine the fragile social fabric. Left behind are thousands of widows and their children
living in extreme poverty. In 2017 these widows formed a movement that is growing steadily and currently counts 2,000 members.
The women meet every week in extended microfinance groups to help each other get back on their feet economically.
Together, the women rise up again and gain the courage to shape their own futures.
